In property maintenance and on farms, tank trolleys often visit the same locations several times a day, so every return journey affects the workflow. An IBC container rack on a building site requires a clear route
Start by planning your route based on three points: where you will fill the tank, where you will use water or other liquids, and where you will drive to once the job is finished. Position these points so that you can travel as far as possible along the same route. Leave space on the route for machinery and keep pedestrians clear of the machinery’s path when there are several workers moving around the site. When transporting water for watering to the garden area, first position the tank at the edge of the work area so that the hose reaches the target without having to manoeuvre the equipment in the middle of the job. The same principle applies to scrubbing and washing tasks when you position the stand, pump and hose in the direction of the work area. Plan the stopping points for the IBC container rack for repetitive work
Mark your own refuelling point, waiting point and the nearest stop to your workstation in the standard areas. For example, on a four-stop round trip, one extra 60-metre reversing manoeuvre and a return journey of the same length at each stop will increase the day’s total distance travelled by 480 metres. It is worth running through the route both when the vehicle is loaded and when it is empty, as visibility, turning space and the positioning of hoses change during the working day. When the stopping points are the same, it is also easier for the work crew to operate in a coordinated manner.

How do I design a route for an IBC container rack?
First, note down the refuelling point, your workstation and the destination you’ll be driving to after work. Try to plan a route that takes you from one to the next, avoiding unnecessary changes of direction. Also bear in mind the reach of the hoses, the manoeuvring space required for the equipment, and people moving around at the site. For recurring sites, it is advisable to make the same route standard practice.

When changing the intended use of the tank, ensure that the tank and hoses are cleaned in accordance with the requirements of the liquid you are using.
Why is it a good idea to agree on stop-offs in advance?
Pre-arranged stopping points reduce the number of situations where the driver has to assess turning manoeuvres, reversing and the positioning of hoses whilst working. When filling, use and storage take place at familiar locations, the work crew knows where the equipment is moving and where the tank is being handled. This also makes it easier to organise the daily workflow.
Is the IBC container rack supplied ready for use?
We deliver the racks ready for use. No special tools are required for assembly. We check the rack before delivery to ensure the dimensions, structure and laser-cut parts are correct. It is advisable to go through the tank mounting, locking mechanisms and operation before the first run, so that work can begin with a clear routine in place.
