How do you plan to attach an irrigation or washing unit to an IBC container rack?
It is a good idea to plan the installation of your watering or washing equipment at the same time as you decide on the location of the tank, the method of water supply and the route of the hoses. A well-organised setup speeds up your working day and ensures your equipment is always within easy reach.

The mounting of a watering or washing device works best when you design the tank holder, the work machine and the work stage as a single unit. First, consider where you will fill the tank, where you will use the water, and which side the hose will naturally run to the brush unit or washing nozzle. We manufacture racks for 1,000-litre IBC tanks for tractors and wheel loaders, and we customise mountings for watering and washing equipment.
The installation of a watering or washing device begins at the work route
Choose the location of the machine based on where the work is to be carried out. For brushing and washing tasks, the water must flow from the tank to the machine without the hose getting caught up in the wheels, joints or walkways. You should also plan for filling and emptying at this stage. When the valve, pump and hose connection are within easy reach, the operator can carry out the task without unnecessary stops. On a tractor, the mount is usually attached to the lifting point brackets, whilst for a wheel loader we can design a customised mounting option. Please let us know which machine you’ll be using and the equipment involved at the ordering stage, so that the mounting point can be tailored to your specific workflow. It’s also useful to know whether you mainly use water for sweeping yards, washing streets or watering green spaces. This ensures the system supports an entire working day, rather than just a single stage of the job.
An effective fastening system makes water transfer part of the work process, rather than a separate arrangement.
Plan the mounting according to the equipment to be used
Please let us know whether you use a brush attachment, a wash nozzle or a pump on your rack. We will tailor the mounting and dimensions to suit your machine.
Dimension the mounting for the watering or washing equipment according to the water flow
The method of water transfer determines whether the system requires a gravity-fed outlet, a pump, or both. We have a mounting point for an electric water pump with a flow rate of 45 l/min. A full 1,000-litre tank corresponds, theoretically, to approximately 22 minutes’ flow if the water flows at a steady rate of 45 l/min. The actual operating time depends on the unit’s settings and water demand. See also water tank for a tractor -our solution.
Keep the hose as short as possible where the water is used, but allow sufficient slack for the operation of the machinery. Protect the connectors and valves from impact by positioning them within the shelter of the frame. If the unit has several water outlets, design the branching and shut-off valves so that you can use water only where it is needed. This also makes cleaning and replacing the unit easier.
Secure the watering or washing equipment for maintenance
Ensure that maintenance points are easily accessible. The tank valve, pump, filter and hose connections must be visible so that their condition can be checked before the start of the working day. If you are using anything other than water in the tank, keep the substance labels visible and follow the product’s instructions for use. On the packaging of chemicals classified as hazardous, the labels and safety data sheets provide guidance on safe handling. Tukes labelling guidelines helps you check the basics.
When you contact us, please let us know the model of your machine, the number of IBC containers, the irrigation or washing equipment to be used, and your preferred mounting method. We will agree on the dimensions and mounting option with you. The racks are made from Finnish steel, laser-cut and powder-coated. We deliver them ready for use, and they can be installed without any special tools. You can find our contact details our contact details.
Usein kysyttyä
Can a watering system be attached to an IBC container rack?
Yes. We manufacture IBC container racks that can be designed to accommodate attachments for watering and washing equipment. Please let us know what type of equipment you use and which machine the rack will be fitted to. We will agree on the mounting dimensions when you place your order.
Where is the best place to install the pump?
Position the pump in a location where you can operate, inspect and service it without having to dismantle the tank or the machine. The hose must be kept clear of wheels, joints and other moving parts. We have a mounting point for an electric 45 l/min water pump.
Is this solution suitable for brushing and washing?
This solution is suitable for transporting and using water for watering, as well as for sweeping and cleaning tasks. The racks are used in property maintenance, the upkeep of streets and courtyards, and on construction sites. Water can be fed to a brush unit, a wash nozzle or a pump, depending on the designed system.
Are any special tools required for installation?
Not necessary. We supply the racks ready for use, and no special tools are required for installation. Before putting the system into service, check that the tank is securely fastened, that the valves are working correctly and that the hose routing is correct. You can also find basic installation instructions on the page Installation instructions.
Can I use the same tap for both watering and washing?
The same frame can be used for different purposes if you plan the overall system – comprising the tank, hoses and the equipment to be used – clearly. If you change the liquid used in the tank, clean the tank and its associated parts in accordance with the intended use and the instructions for the substance in question.
